Business Development Specialist – for global law firm. This role is hybrid and can be based in NYC, DC or Boston, and supports corporate/tax/benefits/financial services practice groups. This role is focused on marketing and business development plans/initiatives.
Duties: Support the development marketing and client development plans, and firm-wide initiatives. Support the preparation of new business proposals and pitches, client presentations, and responses to RFPs. Document client development activities in Salesforce. Track and maintain corporate transactions database (M&A, capital markets, finance, private equity, venture capital, technology transactions, and project finance, etc.) for proposals, directory submissions, website updates, etc. Submit corporate transactions reports for quarterly league table rankings. Support the planning, execution, and follow-up of events, including seminars, webinars, CLE programs, and social events. Coordinate participation in conferences, seminars, forums, sponsorships, and speaking and writing opportunities. Draft external communications. Draft submissions for relevant practices for directory listings and other awards, including Chambers.
Position Requirement: Bachelor’s degree required. Must have at least two years’ experience in law firm or professional services marketing. Strong attention to detail. Successful project management experience. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills. Salesforce, Account Engagement, and Adobe PDF skills ideal. Understanding of corporate transactions a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience $106k - $150k +.
Business Development Manager – Litigation – for a powerhouse global law firm. This is a hybrid role and can be based out of the Washington, DC, Boston, MA, or NYC office. This position supports the internationally recognized Antitrust and Competition & International Arbitration practices. Candidate will collaborate with the key practice group leaders in Litigation and Investigations and senior lawyers, as well as the Marketing/BD team ensuring successful business development/strategy/external communications. *Ideal candidate has experience in litigation and/or transactions business development.
Responsibilities: Work with senior practice group attorneys on BD strategy. Develop and monitor business plans. Develop BD budgets. Preparation/follow-up for quarterly meetings with Management Committee. Work with other Marketing/BD team members to identify clients and contacts to be targeted for specific opportunities. Implement business development initiatives and programs around new business generation. Prepare targeted client pitch materials. Leverage the Marketing Research team analyze market opportunities. Coordinate with members of the BD team on cross practice pitches. Support strategic/logistical aspects of the lateral integration planning process for new lateral attorneys. Identify external sponsorship and speaking opportunities. Recommend thought leadership and CLE programs for clients and prospects. Draft targeted submissions for relevant practices for directory listings and other awards, including Chambers. Develop website content, brochures, and other external communication pieces. Develop segmented client/prospect mailing lists. Assist with supervision of litigation BD specialists.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. At least three years of experience in a law firm or professional services marketing/business development role. Prior success in law firm marketing and business development. Previous law firm BD experience working with litigation and/or transactions teams is preferred. Strong interpersonal and written communications skills. Demonstrated leadership. Experience mentoring team members is a plus. Proficiency IT and software for marketing including databases and knowledge management tools. Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Salesforce exposure is a plus. Salary range is $176k - $247,5k depending on experience and location.
Business Development Proposal Manager – for top tier global law firm. This is a hybrid role and can be based out of Washington, DC, NYC, or Boston, MA. This role specifically and solely focuses on proposals, RFPs, RFIs, and working with attorneys in this process. The Proposal Manager is a key member of the Marketing and Business Development Department. This role drives strategy/execution of large-scale, strategic RFP/RFI responses, management of the global panel development program, and other business development initiatives. Primary responsibilities for this role are managing responses to RFPs/RFIs from inception to final product, this role also provides has an opportunity to participate in interesting and important business development activities.
Duties include: Lead process for responding to large-scale, cross-practice, strategically important and/or firmwide RFPs/RFIs. Building strong relationships with the business development team and other departments that contribute to RFPs, Coach and prepare attorneys for client pitches and presentations. Ensure participation in post-RFP evaluations. Obtain feedback to propose process improvements. Maintain all RFP-related activities and materials within the centralized CRM system. Leading role in maximizing the panel appointments through the global panel development program. Working closely with relationship lawyers to identify opportunities to drive growth of client panels. Suggest and support additional improvements to the firm’s proposal and pitch process.

Business Development Manager – Regulatory - for top tier global law firm. This role supports the Regulatory practice group including ESG, Energy, Environmental, Business and Human Rights, and Advertising and Consumer Protection Investigations. This is a hybrid role and can be based out of the Washington, DC, Los Angeles, CA, or San Francisco, CA offices.
Duties: Work with attorney stakeholders and Marketing/BD team members to develop and monitor business plans ensuring with clearly stated milestones tied to business goals. Develop budgets for assigned groups. Work with practice and industry group leaders on preparation/follow-up for quarterly meetings with the Management Committee. Work directly with attorneys to implement business development initiatives/programs for new business generation with existing clients and prospects. Prepare targeted client pitch material. Leverage Marketing Research team to analyze market opportunities and assist attorneys/groups with preparation for client meetings. Coordinate with members of the BD team on cross practice pitches and other efforts. Recommend thought leadership and CLE programs for clients and prospects.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. At least three years of experience in law firm or professional services marketing and business development, with a demonstrated background of accomplishment. Excellent interpersonal skills and written communications skills. Demonstrated leadership and proactivity/initiative. Prior experience supervising direct reports ideal. Ability to provide consistent and high quality work under tight deadlines. Experience with information technology and software for marketing, including databases and knowledge management tools. Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Salesforce a plus. Salary: $170k - $250k (commensurate with experience)
Business Development Manager – Corporate/Financial Institutions or top tier global law firm. This role may be based out of NYC, Boston, Washington, DC, San Francisco; Palo Alto; or Los Angeles. This is a mostly remote position with occasional in office work. This position is responsible for driving strategy and implementing initiatives for the corporate, tax and financial services groups and to be a part of this global Marketing & Business Development team.
Duties: Work with stakeholders on strategic business development plans for assigned groups. Develop marketing & BD budgets for assigned practice groups. Primary point of contact for practice group leadership. Collaborate with attorneys to implement business development initiatives around new business generation with existing and new clients. Prepare specific client pitch materials. Utilize Market Research team to analyze market opportunities. Manage and participate in related practice group meetings. Monitor relevant trade press and developments to report on prospective client development leads to partners on a daily basis. Business Development Specialist – for prominent global law firm.. This position can be based out of the Washington DC, or NYC office. This is a hybrid as needed role with mostly remote work. The focus of this position is Regulatory. The specialist will support marketing/business development initiatives.
Duties: Work closely with the Director and Managers in supporting the development and execution of strategic plans. Provide support to Class Actions Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Communications & Media, and Technology. Coordinate/support preparation of new business proposals and pitches, client presentations, and responses to RFPs. Record client development activities, efforts, and results. Coordinate the production of internal/external practice and industry group communications and content. Coordinate ranking submissions, including producing draft submissions and reference lists for manager review. Support execution and follow-up of firm events., CLE programs, and social events. Assist with securing CLE accreditation in advance of events and disseminating CLE certificates post-event. Coordinate sponsorships and related ads. Conduct market research and work with the Marketing Research Team as needed. Coordinate internal meetings, agendas, and follow-up action items.
