HR Leave Administration Specialist – for prominent global law firm in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for providing support to the CHRO and the Director of HR.  The Specialist will process all employee medical leave benefits, FMLA, workers compensation, STD, LTD, etc., monitor and report on labor law compliance, assist with the budget process and monthly variances, complete surveys, and take the lead on conducting new staff orientation.  This role also assists with HR matters as they arise in collaboration with the CHRO and Director of HR. 

Responsibilities:

  • Processing and handling all employee medical leave benefits, FMLA, workers compensation, salary continuation, STD, LTD, reasonable accommodations, etc.  Utilizing AbsenceSoft for employee leave as well as other tracking methods. 

  • Primary person conducting staff orientations and working closely with the Recruiting staff on attorney orientations, preparing orientation materials and updating orientation and onboarding programs.

  • Preparing monthly variances for the DC HR Department and assisting with the budget process.

  • Administering bi-weekly process for the firm’s organizational charts.

  • Assisting the CHRO and the Director of HR with a variety of responsibilities including processing check requests and expenses through Chrome River, creating spreadsheets, Smartsheets, Word documents, PowerPoint slides, etc.

  • Assisting with planning events and other programs hosted by the HR Department with guidance from the CHRO and the Director of HR.

  • Handling day-to-day staff inquiries regarding HR matters that arise.

  • Generating and sorting information within databases and Excel spreadsheets/Smartsheets.

  • Overseeing the maintenance of all electronic personnel and leave of absence files.

  • Overseeing the Departure Audit Process as well sending communications regarding the offboarding process for staff. 

Position Requirements: Four-year college degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Minimum of two years of experience handling and processing all employee medical leave benefits, FMLA, workers compensation, STD, LTD, etc. and processing human resources data in a law firm, corporate or professional services environment. Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Smartsheet, and/or related software. Proficiency in working with HR databases and  Smartsheet.  Knowledge of AbsenceSoft or other leave tracking software is a plus. Ability to take various forms of data and organize and analyze the data. High degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information. Proven reliability, dependability, and motivation. Excellent organizational and communications skills. Security Manager – for top tier global law firm in Washington, DC.  This position is responsible for the supervision of Firm employed security officers, and for oversight of the emergency evacuation and first aid training program for the Washington, DC, office. **Ideal candidate is able to work on-site Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Prior supervisory experience managing a team is required - ideally in a security environment. Must be able to provide feedback, coach / train and develop employees. This role is responsible for managing a team of 12. First Aid certified highly preferred and willing to pursue a CPR Training Certification in order to conduct in-house trainings for specific staff. 

Duties: Responsible for the supervision of security force (full and part-time security officers). Ensures subordinate officers are fully trained before assuming their duties; that all officers maintain a positive/professional image while on duty and are knowledgeable of their responsibilities. Responsible for officers’ shift schedules, review of timesheets, currency of post orders, and daily activity log/incident reports. Ensure shifts are covered. Together with the director, delivers evaluations and performance improvement plans. Training and Emergency Response duties: Manages floor warden/first aid training programs, and assists with emergency response protocol. Conducts first aid, AED, and CPR training for DC floor wardens and security personnel. Develop and revise security/safety policies with director and management committees. Project Management duties: Administer office, desk, and filing cabinet lock inventory, and electronic key and identification card program. Assists with preparation of annual security budget, with detailed justification for major capital expenditures. Identifies security vulnerabilities, making recommendations for corrective action. In the absence of the security director, advise firm on matters of security/safety/personal protection during periods of heightened threat. Equipment and System Maintenance duties: Ensures working order of security equipment, with attention to access control systems, locking mechanisms, alarms, and surveillance equipment. Coordinates with third party security contractors. Basic maintenance on security systems, including remote installation of camera and security panel firmware.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and CPP strongly preferred.  Must have at least ten years of experience with law enforcement, military, or private sector security. Proven supervisory experience, to include shift-coverage, delivering employee evaluations and feedback. Knowledge of security principles, risk assessment, and risk management. Experience with maintenance of security hardware. Experience with CCure 9000, or similar access control systems, and video surveillance systems. Senior Coordinator, Legal Recruiting – for prominent global law firm in DC.  This is a mostly remote role that has a focus on the on-campus recruiting process and expedition of the Summer Associate Program, including law school outreach, and lateral associate hiring.

Duties: This position assists in planning/coordinating the summer associate program, including facilitation of educational programs. Preparing the Summer Associate Program budget. Coordinating with the Manager to track spending against the approved budget. Coordinate Summer Associate pipeline programs, such as the LCLD 1L Scholars Program and SEO Intern Program. Coordinate on-campus interview program (OCI) and callback interview process; related logistics, staffing of firm hospitality suites, scheduling callback interviews, and post-offer recruiting events. Coordinate with school relationship managers regarding year-round recruiting initiatives.  Assist with evaluation process and ensure evaluations are submitted in a timely manner. Prepare weekly reports for hiring partners summarizing the lateral recruiting pipeline, including judicial clerks. Draft annual year-end recruiting report for Hiring Committee. Coordinate with Manager and Director to finalize report for presentation/distribution. Train/mentor junior team members on department policies, procedures, and databases. Monitor and update applicant information in recruiting database as needed.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of legal recruiting experience in a law firm is required. Knowledge of attorney recruiting processes. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing work environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Attentional to detail and organizational skills. Experience with viRecruit or similar recruitment database. Strong Excel skills. Flexibility for OT during peak seasons (May through September). HR Manager, Leave Administration – for global law firm in Washington, DC.  This is a remote role, but candidates must live within commuting distance for quarterly in-office meetings. This position is responsible for managing the global leave program firmwide for all offices - US and International.

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing the daily administration of all firm leave programs and requests for accommodations to include Parental Leave, Disability, Workers Compensation as well as all leaves required under federal, state and country specific mandates. Responsible for overseeing/and ensuring operational efficiency and consistency in leave administration. Responsible for developing best practices to lead the leave process through the entire life cycle of leave administration. Keeping up to date with knowledge of regulatory changes ensuring compliance. Conduct periodic benchmarking exercises. Recommend updates ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop/manage effective mechanism for monitoring/reporting leave of absence data. Create/distribute periodic leave reports to senior management and stakeholders. Manage vendor relationships associated with the leave process. Manage requests for accommodation. Take the lead regarding leave related federal and state compliance reporting requirements. Collaborate with  stakeholders to ensure leave of absence notifications, absence management tasks, and leave reporting requirements are fulfilled. Coordinate with HRMS team to monitor leave of absence module within HRMS. Subject matter expert on all leave programs offered by the firm. Manage daily work for Benefits Coordinator assigned to the leave process.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least 7 years of relevant experience in a large law firm or professional services firm required. At least 2 years of supervisory experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Advanced Excel skills required. Proficiency with Workday HRMS, SharePoint, and Smartsheets ideal. Senior Manager, Learning & Development/Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – This is a newly created position for a powerhouse global law firm in Washington, DC. *This is a hybrid-remote role with mostly remote work and can be located in NYC or Washington, DC. This role is within the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Department and is responsible for leading the strategy/execution of the firmwide DEI learning program. This role is a resource to lawyers and professional staff for DEI learning & development.

Duties: Creates strategy for DEI learning. Leads implementation of global short-term and long-term DEI learning, including education related to equity, belonging, inclusion, inclusive leadership, heritage celebrations, bias, intersectionality, racial justice, allyship, anti-hate, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Creates learning modalities, live and on demand. Delivers DEI learning programs internally and for client audiences; develops “train-the-trainer” programs to develop facilitation skills. Collaborates with various departments and teams to assess DEI learning & development in the context of learning & development offerings and goals. Maintains current knowledge of DEI learning & development trends and vendors, particularly in the legal industry. Manages RFP process to engage learning & development vendors; works with selected vendors to tailor program delivery and content to meet the unique needs of the Firm. Develop curriculum for digital engagement. Coordinates with Professional Development and Affinity Group Manager to ensure strategic participation in identified programs. Establishes method for evaluating DEI learning & development efforts. Collaborates with other members of the DEI team to ensure a unified approach. Creates DEI-related content in the learning management system; collaborates with administrators to track and make efficient the delivery of content/processes

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate strongly preferred; PhD a plus. Active Bar Membership a plus. Extensive successful experience in coaching, training and development required. Coaching certification is a plus. Must have at least ten years of experience in learning and development in a law firm. Compensation Manager – for prominent Washington, DC law firm. *This is a hybrid position. This position is responsible for leading compensation initiatives regarding nonexempt and exempt staff salary ranges for compliance with new pay transparency laws/regulations. Candidate works closely with the CHRO and other HR team members regarding Affirmative Action Plans relating to pay equity and compensation structure. Ideal candidate is someone able to move from big picture thinking and design the operational delivery of compensation structure for professional staff positions.

Responsibilities: Deliver compensation guidance regarding professional staff salaries aligned with firm’s strategy, mission, and law firm industry market. Lead compensation analysis and market pricing of roles for a competitive pay structure while adjusting as needed for market trends, internal equity, and engagement. Provide a collaborative relationship with the CHRO, other HR colleagues, and Chiefs at the firm regarding delivering compensation programs for recruiting, job offers and maintaining pay equity. Maintain overall compensation programs and systems and ensuring compliance with federal, state, or local laws and regulations which include pay transparency in various jurisdictions. Create best practices and optimize compensation programs. Support business priorities, operational goals, values, and culture by contributing to the design and development of compensation programs, including job architecture and pay structure design. Analyze trends, research best practices, monitor economic conditions, maintain awareness of changes in law firm strategy and make recommendations for program revisions and development. Participate in the development of compensation communications to ensure that leaders and managers have the right level of knowledge and ensuring communications are well planned and effectively implemented. Establish FLSA status, classification, EEO codes and job codes. Review and propose resolution on classification questions and FLSA exemptions and recommending compensation adjustments according to findings.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least five years of compensation analysis experience planning, designing, implementing compensation structures for a large, multi-location employer, preferably in a law firm or professional services organization. Experience with job architecture and equity analysis. Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite and/or related software. Advanced Excel skills with macros, pivot tables, etc is necessary and strong knowledge of HRIS Systems such as UKG/UltiPro or similar systems. Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations as they apply to compensation programs and pay transparency laws/regulations. Strong quantitative and analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of compensation administration. Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders of all levels. Attorney Recruitment Coordinator - for powerhouse global law firm in Washington, DC.This is a hybrid position with minimal in office work.This position is responsible for organizational support of the Summer Associate Program, On-Campus Recruiting Initiatives, and hiring for lateral associate/judicial clerk positions.

Attorney Recruiting Assistant – for prominent global law firm in Washington, DC.  **This is a hybrid as needed role with mostly remote work. This role is a part of the recruiting team and provides administrative support and assists with the implementation of the Summer Associate Program, including, tracking pre-arrival information, drafting arrival notices, scheduling orientation sessions and exit interviews, and assisting in the planning of social events/training programs. Candidate supports and assists with on-campus interview process at law schools, including, registering for on-campus interview programs, resume collect programs and job fairs, maintaining on-campus interview and candidate files, and scheduling candidates for interviews. This role also assists with organization of lateral associate and judicial clerk candidate applications. and maintains the legal recruiting database, viRecruit, and all candidate files.

Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree.  Prior experience working in a fast paced environment – internships count!  Excellent organizational skills/attention to detail.
